In search of creativity

A major player in the forestry and wood industry, the Office National des Forêts (ONF) employs nearly 9,000 professionals and manages approximately 11 million hectares of public forests belonging to the State and local authorities. The ONF is present throughout mainland France and the French islands. Its ambition, in collaboration with its partners, is to protect and manage forests sustainably, act for the climate and ecological transition, and contribute to the attractiveness and sustainable development of the territories. It seeks to raise awareness among young people of the major challenges facing our environment and our forests.

It is within this framework that our multidisciplinary team has designed and produced, with the ONF’s territorial teams, the educational kit «In search of the secrets of the forest».

The birth of a real fun educational tool

Ten years ago, one of our project managers went to the NFB headquarters in Paris to lead a creativity session with the National Marketing Department and the Nature Animators from all over France. The problem? To interest and raise awareness among young people about environmental issues and forest protection. We had to create a fun and educational kit. So, in real collaboration with the ONF, we chose what the latter would be composed of.

This educational field kit contains

An activity booklet entirely made by our team
Accessories to carry out the different activities (a square, a magnifying glass, a compass, a self-made postcard holder, a pencil, 6 coloured pencils, an unrolling metre, etc.)

A kit that travels!

Following the success of the educational kit «In search of the secrets of the forest» in metropolitan France, our Déclic team has produced several variants for the ONF. These have been deployed in the south of France, in the Mediterranean and on the French islands of Reunion, Martinique and Guadeloupe. The fauna and flora being specific to each place, the activity booklet and accessories had to be adapted.

An adjustment was also made for the youngest: a cotton bag with cords that they can carry on their back.
